Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: The spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry said in his weekly press conference today, Monday, December 11, regarding the continuation of the Zionist regime's crimes in Gaza: We are now witnessing the sixty-seventh day of the Zionist regime's brutal attack on the Gaza Strip. The killing machine of the Zionist regime has killed 17,997 people according to the official statistics of the Palestinian Authority. This number includes 7,875 children, 7,760 are missing and under the rubble, and 49,229 people are injured.
 
He also added: In relation to the resolution, we need to thank again for the brave and responsible action of the Secretary General of the United Nations. But the American government once again showed its full participation in this unfortunate crime against the oppressed Palestinian nation.
 
Kanani stated: The recent impasse in the UN Security Council on the Gaza issue once again showed that the situation of the Security Council is a worrying situation and that it cannot fully fulfill its duty at critical times.
 
He added that Iran's position is that the Zionist regime's war crimes against the people of Gaza must be stopped immediately, and that this country has been consulting and trying to establish a ceasefire since the beginning.
 
This Iranian official said that we are looking for all our efforts to achieve the necessary results and (the actions of the Zionist regime) are a threat to world peace and security, adding: the issue of providing aid is very important. Considering the humanitarian, health and food crises in this region, there is a need to open the Rafah crossing as much as possible. The Egyptian government is expected to increase its efforts in this field.
