Biden, Netanyahu to meet in Washington later this month
Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to visit Washington later this month to meet with US President Barack Obama and address Congress, US media reported.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Details of the meeting between the US president and the Israeli prime minister, which is expected to take place during Netanyahu's visit to Washington to address Congress, are being finalized, CNN reported.

The US president and Israeli prime minister are expected to meet during Netanyahu's visit to Washington later this month to address Congress on the Gaza war, a White House official said on Tuesday.

The expectations for the meeting between Biden and Netanyahu were first reported by CNN, adding that logistical details of the meeting, which is expected to take place at the White House, are still being finalized.

Netanyahu is scheduled to address a joint session of Congress on July 24. The visit comes as the killing of tens of thousands of Palestinians during the Gaza war and the humanitarian crisis in the strait have drawn international criticism of the Biden administration as the main supporter of the Israeli genocide during the war.

According to Fars, about 38,000 people have been killed since October 7 and the beginning of the war in Gaza, and it is feared that a large number of people are buried under the rubble. Almost all of Gaza has been destroyed and most of its 2.3 million people have been displaced. This situation and the siege of Gaza have also created widespread hunger and the risk of famine in Gaza.

Despite the criticism, congressional leaders earlier this month formally invited Benjamin Netanyahu to visit the United States and deliver a speech, stressing that their goal was to "highlight American solidarity with Israel."
