NATO members agree to allocate 40 billion euros in aid to Ukraine
NATO members are planning to allocate 40 billion euros to Ukraine next year, international media quoted European officials as saying.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): NATO allies are planning to allocate 40 billion euros to Ukraine next year, two European diplomats told Reuters.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has earlier called on allies to accept a multi-year commitment to maintain military aid to Kiev at the same level as since the beginning of the Russian operation in 2022, increasing it to 40 billion euros a year.

NATO member states did not support the NATO secretary general's initial request for a multi-year commitment, but a new agreement to allocate 40 billion euros for next year will be signed at the next NATO summit in Washington, DC, this July, a diplomat reported.

Almost two years and five months after the war in Ukraine, there is still no prospect of peace in the country. While the country's army is struggling with a shortage of troops and the pace of receiving Western weapons is slow, Russia is making some gains on the front lines.

Since the beginning of Russia's military operation in Ukraine (February 24, 2022), the West has sent a large amount of financial aid and military equipment to Ukraine, according to ISNA. The United States is one of Kiev's biggest supporters, sending more than $100 billion in aid.

Russia has repeatedly called on the West to stop "pumping weapons into Ukraine," saying it would prolong the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
