Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Mazar-e-Sharif: Maulavi Noorulhadi Abudris, Deputy Governor of Balkh, said at the opening program of "Reformation and Religious Studies" at Balkh University: We welcome the start of such a program for university professors and students, and it should be the focus of a Muslim person's activity in particular.
He added: Reformation and devotional courses help to present important Islamic and religious topics to professors and students, because piety in daily affairs is useful and effective for morals and the splendor of behavior in the Islamic society.
The deputy governor of Balkh Province stated: Unity and integration of the people is one of the serious needs in our society, and one should not separate religious schools from universities and universities from schools.
Maulavi Zia-ul-Haq Zia Karimi, president of Balkh University, said in this ceremony: These courses are mandatory in all colleges and universities of the country according to the order of the Ministry of Higher Education.
Noor Muhammad Haqqani, the head of "Jihad School" in Balkh Province, said in this ceremony: "The effort to strengthen the Islamic system in the country is praiseworthy and appreciated, and our educational institutions are motivated and moving in the same direction."
He added that the distance between religious schools and universities has disappeared and students are working and moving in the same direction with a single Islamic thought.
On the other hand, a number of Balkh University students said: "We are Muslims and I welcome teaching religious courses in the university." They also emphasized that we should all know that the society does not only need Mullahs, but also needs doctors, administrators, economists, engineers and specialists in other sciences, and attention should be paid in this regard.
