Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Monitoring: According to the Ministry’s media office, the discussion focused on increasing transportation through the third section of the Khaf-Herat railway, Iran’s support for this route, and the creation of new regional trade and transit pathways through Afghanistan. The talks also emphasized the effectiveness of bilateral railway cooperation.
Additionally, the Deputy Minister of Railways met with the Executive Director of Iran’s Transport Infrastructure Construction and Development Company to discuss ongoing railway projects in Afghanistan, particularly the Herat-Nimruz, Nimruz-Kandahar, and Chabahar railway projects. The Iranian officials expressed readiness to invest and collaborate on the technical aspects of these projects.
In a related development, the Deputy Minister of Railways also met with representatives from six railway companies operating in the sector, who committed to supporting the standardization and expansion of Afghanistan’s railway network.
It should be noted that the delegation from the Ministry of Public Works, led by the Deputy Minister of Railways, is on an official visit to Iran to seek cooperation and attention from regional countries for the development of Afghanistan’s railway infrastructure./Bakhtar News
