Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Majid Kiyani, Managing Director of Aras Free Zone Organization, who was talking to AVA reporter on the sidelines of the world celebration of registration of "Aras" Geopark in the Scientific and Cultural Organization of UNESCO as Iran's third international geopark, answered a question. He answered about the possibility of presence of Afghan businessmen and investors in this area.
He said: We have good conditions for Afghan investors in the Aras Free Zone, especially considering the closeness and interactions here with Russia and the Eurasian Union, because Iran's only border with the Eurasian Union is in the Aras Free Zone.
Referring to his recent meeting with investors from Afghanistan on the sidelines of the Iran-Expo exhibition in Tehran, Kayani noted: These Afghan investors planned to produce a series of food products in Aras and export them to Russia and the Eurasian Union, and we hope that in May This investment will happen in the future.
Considering the access that Aras Free Zone has to Eurasian countries as well as Turkey, he invited Afghan investors to choose this region as their investment destination.
The CEO of Aras Free Zone Organization added that Aras has good capacities in the field of tourism, one of which is Aras Geopark, which can be useful and good for the people of Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, the world celebration of the registration of Aras Geopark in the Scientific and Cultural Organization of UNESCO as the third international geopark of Iran, located in the Aras Free Zone in East Azarbaijan province of the Islamic Republic of Iran and bordering the three countries of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Nakhchivan and on the way of the historical road of the Silk Road, June 21, with the presence of the senior officials of this country and this region, a group of ambassadors and diplomats of foreign countries, as well as foreign journalists, was held on the banks of the Aras River.
Majid Kiani, Managing Director of Aras Free Zone Organization, stated in this celebration: Aras has an important difference from other free zones of Iran, and that is that the course of economic development in it has been diverse and it has been able to produce and export well in the field of industry for 18 years.
Pointing to the capacities of agriculture and hydroponic greenhouses, trade, transit and location on the Silk Road, Kayani added: Aras has become the most important tourist destination in northwest Iran in the past years with its natural and historical attractions.
