Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Rudenko, emphasizing Moscow's support for Beijing's position on Taiwan, said: We are witnessing the fact that Washington, violating the "One China" principle, which it also recognizes, is strengthening military-political contacts and relations with Taipei and increasing the supply of weapons to it under the pretext of maintaining the "existing conditions."
He added: The aim of such intervention in regional affairs by the US is to sanction the People's Republic of China, create a crisis in Asia, and obtain its selfish interests.
China considers the autonomous island of Taiwan to be part of its territory, and any support and supply of weapons to it by the US is a violation of the "One China" principle.
Washington is Taiwan’s main international supporter and arms supplier, and despite the island’s lack of diplomatic recognition, it has continued to maintain relations and supply it with arms.
In September, the administration of US President Joe Biden approved a $567 million military support package for Taiwan.
China and Russia announced a “boundless” partnership in February 2022, during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Beijing, shortly before the invasion of Ukraine.
