Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The Pakistani police announced that today (Thursday, February 16, 2023), one person was killed and nine others were injured following an explosion inside a train in the city of Chichawatni in the Punjab province of Pakistan.
Sohiwal district police officer Faisal Shehzad told Dawn newspaper that the nature of the blast is still unclear.
This train was moving from Baluchistan to Peshawar.
This police official said that according to witnesses, the explosion occurred in a "toilet".
Meanwhile, Multan's deputy Hamed Hassan told reporters that a team from the Counter-Terrorism Department has arrived at the site and started collecting evidence.
Regarding the nature of the explosion, Mr. Hassan said that various narratives have been given by the inspectors and passengers, but the railway administration has not issued any official statement so far.
Hamed Hassan added that the police investigation about this incident continues.
