The Group of 20 top economies in the world welcomed the African Union as a new member in a joint statement at their annual meeting this Saturday. This group was also asked about Russia's war in Ukraine, without condemning Russia, only to avoid occupying the territory of other countries by resorting to force and to limit the use of nuclear weapons.
On the first day of the G20 summit in New Delhi, the Prime Minister of India announced that according to the agreement of all members, the African Union has officially become a member of this group.
Russian Foreign Minister hit out at western nations, and claiming that they ignored the situation in Iraq, Afghanistan and Yugoslavia in previous deliberations of the grouping.
Three prominent international NGOs have boycotted meetings that Saudi Arabia is holding with civil society groups ahead of the annual Group of Twenty (G20) Summit, saying the Riyadh regime is trying to “whitewash its dire human rights record” by hosting such events.
