Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): 18 senators agreed with the resolution to stop the sale of tank shells to the Zionist regime, and 79 other senators opposed it.
The US Senate also opposed another resolution calling for an end to the sale of mortar shells to Israel. This resolution was rejected with 78 votes against and 19 votes in favor.
The third resolution is related to stopping the sale of Global Positioning System (GPS) guidance systems for use in bombs, which is to be voted on in a few hours.
These three resolutions, known as "resolutions of disapproval", were introduced by Bernie Sanders, an independent senator from the state of Vermont, and some Democratic senators.
The support of the two Republican and Democratic parties to the Zionist regime had made it impossible to approve these resolutions, but the support of some Democratic senators has created hope that Israel and the administration of US President Joe Biden will be forced to take measures to protect Palestinian civilians.
Since October 7, 2023, following the failure of the Al-Aqsa storm operation by the Palestinian resistance groups led by Hamas, the Israeli regime has started a devastating war against the Gaza Strip. During this period, most of the houses and infrastructures of the Gaza Strip have been severely destroyed in this war, and the miserable siege and severe humanitarian crisis, along with the unprecedented famine and hunger, threaten the lives of the residents of this area.
Israel's attacks are not limited to the Gaza Strip, and the occupation regime of Jerusalem has expanded its belligerence in the West Bank, Lebanon and other Middle East regions with the full support of the United States and its allies.
Despite all these crimes, the occupying regime has admitted that entering the fourteenth month of the war, it has not yet been able to achieve its goals of this war, which is to destroy the Hamas movement and return its prisoners from the Gaza Strip.
The Ministry of Health of Gaza has announced that since the beginning of Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, 43,922 Palestinians have been martyred and 103,898 Palestinians have been injured.
