Change in Iranian embassy indicates continuation of the country
Hosseini Mazari/ The Afghan opposition was delighted with the dismissal of Dr. Kazemi Qomi from the post of head of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s embassy in Kabul and the appointment of Mr. Bigdali in his place, as well as the elimination of the post of special presidential representative for Afghan affairs and the continuation of work under the supervision of the country’s foreign minister, as if Iran’s policy towards Afghanistan had changed, and would be against the Islamic Emirate and in favor of its opponents.
This is while; the transfer of the Iranian ambassador to Kabul and any other diplomatic change in Mr. Pezhikian’s government is a predictable event and is considered behavior in accordance with diplomatic principles and indicates the continuation of the country’s macro policies towards Afghanistan. This change at the diplomatic level does not in any way mean a change in Iran’s overall approach towards Afghanistan. Iran’s policies towards Afghanistan have always been based on preserving the interests of both sides and regional security, and it seems that with the election of a new ambassador, this approach will continue.
According to some Iranian sources, Alireza Bigdali, the new head of the Iranian embassy in Afghanistan, with a significant background and deep familiarity with regional and Afghan issues, is certainly aware of the details and challenges in our country.
Also, Mr. Pezhikian's government, like Shahid Raisi's government, has a deep belief in the neighborhood policy, and this can be effective in strengthening relations between the two countries and creating stability in the region.
Mr. Bigdali has a high capacity for coordination between Iranian domestic institutions related to the issue of Afghanistan, and this can help facilitate crisis management and bilateral cooperation.
Iran has always emphasized the importance of protecting the interests of the Afghan people and is trying to contribute to the stability and development of Afghanistan by providing humanitarian and economic assistance and political consultations. This approach is not only in the interest of our people, but also helps ensure Iran's security and national interests.
Finally, the election of the new head of the Islamic Republic of Iran's mission in Kabul demonstrates the country's commitment to maintaining friendly relations and cooperation with Afghanistan at the highest diplomatic level, and this can help strengthen security and stability in the region.
