Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araqchi met and discussed with the Turkish Foreign Minister during his visit to Turkey.
In this meeting, Araqchi, referring to his intensive talks yesterday in Damascus with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and the shared concerns in the region regarding a new round of the spread of terrorism and insecurity, emphasized the need for cooperation and synergy between regional countries, especially the Islamic Republic of Iran and Turkey, to safeguard and protect regional stability and security.
In a meeting with the Turkish Foreign Minister, Araghchi pointed out the Zionist regime's efforts, with the support of the United States, to exploit the sensitive situation in the region after the regime's unprecedented crimes and aggressions against the Palestinian people in Gaza and Lebanon and to divert the attention of the international community from these crimes, and emphasized: The recent movements of terrorist groups in Syria and the spread of instability and insecurity in this country are in line with the Zionist goals.
Referring to the continuation of the Zionist regime's crimes in Gaza and Lebanon with repeated violations of the ceasefire, the Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized the joint responsibility of Islamic countries and all countries in the region to stop these aggressions and prevent the Zionist regime from abusing these conditions, as well as to pay special attention and provide special assistance to refugees in Gaza and Lebanon, especially on the eve of the winter season and the worsening conditions of the people.
This official of the Islamic Republic of Iran also pointed out the serious determination of the two countries to pursue the process of expanding bilateral relations and stated: Fortunately, relations between the two countries are on an upward trend, and we hope to witness the holding of the ninth meeting of the Supreme Cooperation Council of the two countries early next year.
He said: The result of destabilizing Syria could lead to civil war and killing of civilians, and damage to the economy and people of Syria, and damage to the economy of the region. The effects of these problems could spread to neighbors. Syria should not be a center for terrorist groups. In this regard, we have an agreement and consensus that Syria should not be allowed to become a safe haven for Takfiri and non-Takfiri terrorist groups again and lead the region into chaos. The project of destabilizing Syria is a Zionist project in our opinion, and no one should ignore the role of the Zionist regime.
Araqchi emphasized: As neighboring countries, we must take immediate and effective measures to prevent the disruption of security and political stability in Syria.
The Iranian Foreign Minister said: Just as we stood by the Syrian government, army, and people in the past, we will continue to stand by them, and we believe that stability and tranquility in Syria are of fundamental importance for maintaining regional stability and peace.
Araghchi stated: We hope to hold the ninth meeting of the Iran-Turkey High Cooperation Council in Tehran early next year with the participation of the esteemed presidents of the two countries. We believe that there are many areas for cooperation between the two countries that must be pursued and implemented, and as my dear friend Mr. Fidan said, we have designed the necessary mechanisms for this cooperation and are in the process of designing more.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan also emphasized his country's determination to expand relations between the two neighboring countries in various economic, political, cultural and security fields, and mentioned increased cooperation in confronting and fighting terrorism as one of these areas.
