Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): British Prime Minister Keir Starmer referred to the current developments in Syria during a speech to political and economic elites at London's Guildhall on Monday and called for a political solution.
He said, "We once again call on the regime (Bashar Assad's government) and all actors to work for a political solution to stop these conflicts."
Starmer also referred to the ceasefire issue in Lebanon in part of his speech, saying, "We will work to maintain peace in Lebanon, end the war in Gaza, and return the hostages (Israeli prisoners) home."
Starmer also called for “increased aid flows to those suffering horribly in Gaza and other war zones such as Sudan.”
On Sunday, Britain, along with Germany, France and the United States, called for a de-escalation in Syria in a joint statement.
The statement said in part that “the current tensions only underscore the urgent need for a Syrian-led political solution (Syrian-Syrian negotiations) to this conflict.”
Syrian terrorists launched their uprising against the Syrian government on November 27 and, after attacking Aleppo, moved into southern Syria.
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad pledged to eliminate Syrian terrorists along with his allies.
