Nabih Bari: Israel achieved nothing but killing and destruction
Emphasizing that the clear position of this country is the establishment of a ceasefire and the full implementation of Resolution 1701 without more or less, the head of the Lebanese Parliament said that Israel has not achieved anything after 13 months of devastating war against Gaza and 45 days of brutal attacks on Lebanon.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, said today (Tuesday) in a conversation with Al-Jhumorieh newspaper: Last September, the French proposed an initiative that the Americans also supported. A large group of countries signed the initiative as a call to end the war. But the Zionist regime did not respond to this initiative and prevented the ceasefire.
He added: "Our clear position is to implement the ceasefire and the implementation of Resolution 1701 without adding or subtracting any provisions to it, and we agreed with the US envoy Amos Hochstein on this issue."
The head of the Lebanese Parliament said in response to the Israeli Minister of War Israel Katz's claim that Israel had won over Hezbollah, saying: Which victory are they talking about? Were they able to win after 13 months of devastating war against Gaza? It is quite clear that the Israeli enemy did not achieve its goals in Gaza, neither could it return its prisoners from Gaza, nor destroy Hamas; On the contrary, Hamas continues to fight and resist, and the Zionist prisoners remain in Gaza.
Nabih Berri continued: In Lebanon, the Israelis assassinated Hezbollah leaders and commanders, destroyed houses and massacred civilians. Is this really a victory? More than 45 days have passed since the war of the Zionist regime against Lebanon, and despite the fact that the enemy used all its power, it could not advance in Lebanon or even occupy a place in a village. On the contrary, the enemy forces are forced to flee immediately after their attempt to infiltrate Lebanon.
This Lebanese official emphasized, therefore, it is clear that the Israelis could not change anything on the field, and it is the field that emphasizes who has the last word.
In response to what is being said about the Zionist regime's concern about the issuance of a resolution against this regime in the Security Council, he said: When did Israel respect the resolutions of the Security Council and now it is worried about issuing a resolution against itself. If Israel respected the resolutions and was concerned, it should have implemented the resolutions issued before, especially Resolution 242, Resolution 338, and Resolution 1701, which it has violated more than 30,000 times.
According to UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which was adopted in 2006 to end the conflict between Lebanon and the Zionist regime, the Lebanese Hezbollah must withdraw to the northern bank of the Litani River to pave the way for the deployment of the Lebanese National Army and peacekeeping forces. On the other hand, the Israeli army is obliged to withdraw its forces from the southern regions of Lebanon after the deployment of these forces. A thing that Tel Aviv is not willing to implement.
