During a conversation with AVA, a number of political experts considered the current priority of America in the Asian region to be the issue of China with Taiwan and Russia with Ukraine.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: At the same time as Donald Trump took office as the 47th president of the United States and the effects of his foreign policy actions and actions towards Afghanistan, a number of political experts said in a conversation with AVA that according to the current priorities of the United States' policies United, which are China and Russia, the issue of Afghanistan will not be so important in his short-term plans.

Among others, Seyyed Zia Hosseini, an expert on political affairs and the spokesperson of the High Commission of Shias of Afghanistan, in a conversation with AVA, said about the effects of America's plans with Trump's inauguration on Afghanistan: The United States generally has two short-term and long-term plans for the region.

He stated that the priorities of the United States' policy, how it interacts in the Asian region, are more focused on Russia and China, and added: "Afghanistan's discussion will not be of much importance in the short-term plans of this country."

Referring to America's long-term plans in relation to Afghanistan, considering its position in the region, this political expert said: He may engage in interactions with the Afghan government in the future to realize his own interests.

While referring to the political approach of the Islamic Emirate in its interactions with the world, he added that the current government may enter into a constructive and positive interaction with the United States in order to lift the sanctions and free the assets of Afghanistan.

The spokesman of the High Commission of Shias of Afghanistan also pointed to the interest-oriented policy of the United States and said that on the other hand, the Islamic Emirate is trying to focus more on the interests of Afghanistan in determining its foreign policy relations.

On the other hand, Dr. Mohammad Akram Azimi, a university professor and a political expert, in a conversation with AVA reporter, considered Trump's policy regarding Afghanistan as beneficial for the current government and said: During the previous presidency of Trump, the Taliban in Qatar had a political office. and finally the Doha agreement was signed with the Taliban.

He attributed the Taliban's victory over America to the same Doha agreement and added: While there were still several thousand American and NATO forces in Kabul, Ashraf Ghani fled in broad daylight and the Taliban entered Kabul.

This university professor pointed out that although Trump repeatedly criticized his Democratic rivals for the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan in the past four years, he said: "But he has never criticized the original Doha agreement that was signed during his time."

He stated that Trump's policy regarding Afghanistan will be based on several principles in the future and added: comprehensive implementation of the Doha Agreement, more and more durable US aid to Afghanistan, restrictions on China in Afghanistan, strengthening of tension between Iran and Afghanistan, etc.

It should be mentioned that some other political analysts also believe that until the problem of China with Taiwan and Russia with Ukraine is not resolved, the United States will not seriously and directly care about its presence again and pursuing its interests from Afghanistan in the region in the short term.
