The Department of Information and Culture of Bamyan Province has announced the restoration of parts of the historical city of Dahhak and Gholghela and says that the historical caravanserai of Shesh Paul is being restored.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Bamyan: Safiullah Raed, the head of information and culture of Bamyan province, in an interview with AVA reporter, says that parts of the historical city of Dahhak and Gholghlah have been restored in the past years and the Shesh Paul Caravanserai is also being restored.
He says that many historical places in Bamyan were destroyed in the past and it was not possible for tourists to go there. Now, to make it easier and attract tourists, some of these areas, including the city of Gholgleh, the city of Dahhak, and the Sheshpol Caravanserai have been restored.
He also announced the increase in the number of tourists this year compared to last year in Bamyan and said that more than 170,000 tourists have visited the ancient monuments of this province this year. According to the head of information and culture of Bamyan province, more than one thousand tons of them were foreign tourists.
Mr. Raed added that the purpose of restoring historical places is to preserve and maintain the old culture of this province and to attract tourists. Attracting tourists makes the citizens' economy grow.
According to him, the Directorate of Information and Culture is trying to restore and restore other historical monuments of Bamyan.
This is despite the fact that not long ago, the Ministry of Information and Culture of the caretaker government emphasized on further protection and restoration of the ancient monuments of Bamyan province.
