Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): raqi Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Tuesday that a leader of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) had been killed in the country.
He also said eight other ISIS leaders were killed in an operation by security forces in the Hamrin Mountains in northern Iraq.
The remaining elements of ISIS continue to operate in areas of Baghdad, Salahuddin, Diyala, Kirkuk, Nineveh and al-Anbar.
Iraqi security forces continue to search, clear and pursue ISIS remnants across the country to ensure that ISIS and its fugitive elements do not resurface.
