Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The press office of the Ministry of Public Health reported that the head of the ministry, Maulavi Noor Jalal Jalali, met with the World Health Organization's representative on Afghanistan.
The meeting discussed the establishment of six-bed health centers in central Kabul, Parwan, Kunar and Bamyan and the purchase of chemotherapy machines for cancer patients, the ministry said.
They also discussed strengthening Afghanistan's health structure and supplying medicines by the World Health Organization and attracting international aid, the ministry said in a statement.
It is worth mentioning that due to lack of sufficient funds and medical specialists, Afghanistan suffers from a shortage of standard government hospitals, which provides the ground for the construction of private hospitals, doctors charge huge fees from patients for treatment.
This is while the majority of Afghans due to economic poverty cannot afford to treat their own patients and are struggling with such problems.
