UNIFIL: The Israeli army deliberately destroyed one of our headquarters in southern Lebanon

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: The Zionist regime's army deliberately destroyed an observation post of the UN peacekeeping forces on the border with Lebanon with a bulldozer.

 

Israel had previously asked the United Nations to evacuate some of its headquarters in southern Lebanon, which was strongly opposed by the organization.

 

UNIFIL announced in a statement on Saturday night that an Israeli army bulldozer deliberately destroyed an observation post of ours and the fence around it.

 

At the same time, UNIFIL has announced that despite Israeli pressure, the organization's peacekeeping forces will remain in all their headquarters.

 

"We remind (Israeli forces) and other actors of their obligations to ensure the safety and security of UN forces and property and to respect the inviolability of UN sites at all times," the statement said.

 

In its statement, UNIFIL also asked Israel to stop taking actions that undermine the positions of the United Nations, which is considered a violation of international law.

 

Israel has recently claimed that the Hezbollah group is attacking Israel from positions close to UN peacekeeping forces positions in southern Lebanon; An accusation that Hezbollah has strongly denied.
