Aliyev: The peace agreement can only be signed if the constitution of Armenia is changed
Ilham Aliyev, the president of Azerbaijan, considered the possibility of an agreement between Baku and Yerevan to be conditional on the change of the Armenian constitution.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Tass news agency quoted Elham Aliyev's words while accepting the credentials of the new Canadian Ambassador Kevin Hamilton and wrote: We can finalize the text of the peace treaty, at least its basic principles, within a few months.

However, he stressed that the peace agreement can only be signed if the Armenian constitution is changed. Aliyev said: The main condition (signing) of the peace agreement is to change the Constitution of Armenia, because this law includes territorial claims against (the Republic of) Azerbaijan. And as long as this (change) is not done, the peace agreement will not be signed.

The press office of Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev, who heads the country's commission in negotiations with Yerevan, announced yesterday that the two countries are in the final stage of negotiations to determine the rules of cooperation between the border demarcation commissions of the two countries.

This statement states: Since the beginning of July 2024, the commissions have exchanged draft versions of their regulations and conducted a series of dialogues that have continued in a constructive atmosphere and this process is expected to be finalized soon.
