American Muslim political groups asked Biden to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race
A national coalition of American Muslim political organizations has called on US President Joe Biden to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race because of her policies on Israel's war in Gaza.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Monitoring: The American Muslim 2024 Election Task Force members include: Americans for Justice in Palestine Action, CAIR Action, ICNA Council of Social Justice Action, Muslim American Society Action, Muslim Civic Coalition Activate and the US Council of Muslim Organizations Civil Action Network, The Middle East Eye reported.
In a statement, the task force said, in part, "President Biden should now step aside so that the Democratic Party can identify and nominate a new, able, and qualified candidate who better reflects the values and views of most voters, including opposition to US support for the Gaza genocide."
The US remains Israel’s most important ally and biggest supplier of arms. It has provided Israel with weapons and intelligence support during the Gaza war, and blocked United Nations resolutions calling for a humanitarian ceasefire in the besieged Palestinian territory.
Last week, Reuter’s news agency citing two US officials reported that the United States has sent to Israel massive shipments of munitions, including more than 10,000 highly destructive 2,000-pound bombs and thousands of Hellfire missiles, since the start of the war in the Gaza war.
The US has transferred at least 14,000 of the MK-84 2,000-pound bombs, 6,500 500-pound bombs, 3,000 Hellfire precision-guided air-to-ground missiles, 1,000 bunker-buster bombs, 2,600 air-dropped small-diameter bombs, and other munitions, according to the officials.
The tally of shipments suggests there has been no significant drop-off in US military support for Israel.
Israel waged its brutal Gaza onslaught on October 7, 2023 following a historic military operation by the Palestinian Hamas resistance group against the usurping entity in retaliation for its intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.
Over eight months into the Israeli war, vast tracts of Gaza lie in ruins amid a crippling blockade of food, clean water, and medicine.
Nearly 37,900 Palestinians have since been killed, mostly women and children, and around 87,000 others injured, according to local health authorities./Fars news
