Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): This year, the number of Arbaeen pilgrims has grown significantly compared to previous years. As much as a week before Arbaeen, many pilgrims have visited Karbala.
Referring to the arrival of more than 14 million pilgrims to the city of Karbala by Saturday, the Governor of Karbala said: This year we are witnessing the largest Arbaeen of all the previous years.
With the increase in the number of Arbaeen pilgrims, the governor of Karbala, "Nasif al-Khatabi", has predicted that the number of pilgrims this year will increase by 50% to more than 30 million people.
Last year, more than 21 million people visited the Arbaeen.
The governor of Karbala added that Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia al-Sudani directly supervises the plans for the successful implementation of the Arbaeen.
"Nasif al-Khattabi" also stated that the Hajj Organization of Iraq has allocated a thousand buses to transport pilgrims from the southern axis by order of the Prime Minister.
He further mentioned the situation in the city of Karbala and said that every house in Karbala has become a procession and delegation and 28 thousand Hussaini processions are providing services to pilgrims.
While asking all the pilgrims to travel on the designated routes and not to enter the traffic route of the cars, he said that despite the large number of pilgrims, the movement of pilgrims is ongoing.
On the other hand, Brigadier Salah Fazel Al-Eisawi, commander of the 54th Brigade of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Organization in Anbar province, announced that the forces of this organization are on maximum alert following the warning of the infiltration of members of the ISIS terrorist group into the western areas of this province.
In an interview with the "Al-Malouma" website, he stated: "In the shadow of security tensions deep in Syria due to the actions of the United States, the Hashd al-Shaabi forces are on alert due to the fear of the infiltration of elements of the ISIS terrorist group from those areas to the western regions of Iraq.”.
