Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Mazar-Sharif: Mohammad Hussain Azimi, director of agricultural promotion affairs of the Balkh Department of Agriculture, told AVA today (Monday, May 1, 2023): This year, 150 acres of land have been planted with ground berries, one acre per acre.
He added that according to the forecast, 150 to 225 metric tons of ground berries will be harvested from this province this year.
Azimi emphasized that ground Strawberry has been cultivated mostly in Balkh, Chamtal, Nahrshahi, Dehdadi, Shulgarh and Daulatabad districts of this province.
According to him, ground Strawberry is a good income fruit for farmers, which is currently sold for 150 to 200 Afghanis per kilogram in the markets of this province.
This is despite the fact that last year more than 250 metric tons of ground berries were harvested in Balkh.
