The United Nations Security Council condemned the terrorist attack on Iran
The United Nations Security Council on Wednesday (August 16, 2023) issued a statement strongly condemning the recent terrorist attack on the Holy Shrine of Shahcheragh in the city of Shiraz, Iran.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): In the statement of the UN Security Council, it is stated that the members of the Security Council are responsible for the heinous and cowardly terrorist attack on innocent people and pilgrims in the shrine of Shahcheragh Shiraz on August 17, 2023. It is under the responsibility of ISIS and has led to the death of 2 Iranians and the injury of 8 innocent people.
 
The members of the United Nations Security Council expressed their deep sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims and the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and wished for a speedy and complete recovery for the injured and emphasized once again that terrorism in all its forms and manifestations is one of the most serious threats to peace.
 
The members of the Security Council emphasized the need to hold the perpetrators, organizers, financiers and supporters of these reprehensible terrorist acts accountable and to prosecute them and asked all countries, based on their obligations based on international laws and relevant resolutions of the Security Council, with the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
 
Members of the UN Security Council also emphasized that any act of terrorism, regardless of their motivation, at any time, at any time and by whomever is committed, is criminal and unjustifiable.
 
They reiterated the need for all countries to fight by all means, in accordance with the UN Charter and other obligations under international law, and threats to international peace and security.
 
It should be mentioned that a takfiri agent entered the holy shrine of Hazrat Ahmed bin Musa (AS) with a firearm on Sunday evening on August 13, 2023 1402 and started shooting at the pilgrims and servants from the entrance.
 
The shrine of Shahcheragh (AS) was also attacked by ISIS in 1401 AH, as a result of which 13 people were martyred and more than 20 people were injured. The perpetrators of this terrorist act were executed a month ago.
