Shaukat Mirziyoyev, the current president of Uzbekistan, won the election again
The Election Headquarters of Uzbekistan announced Shaukat Mirziyoyev, the current president of this country, as the winner of the election with 78.5% of the votes.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): According to the announcement of the Election Headquarters of Uzbekistan, Shaukat Mirzayev, the president of this country won the presidential election again with 87.5% of the votes, and he will be in this position for another 7 years.
 
According to Tass news agency, Zaynuddin Nizam Khojayev, the head of the Election Commission of Uzbekistan, said in a press conference today (Monday, July 10): "Since Shaukat Mirziyoyev won 87.35% of the votes, according to preliminary data, he is legally elected as the president.
 
Mirziyoyev won a decisive victory, ahead of his rivals, Rubakhon Makhmudova, first deputy of the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan, and Ulogbek Inviatov, leader of the People's Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, who received 4.43 and 4.02 percent of the vote, respectively.
 
Abdulshakur Khamzayev, the leader of the Ecological Party, came fourth with 3.74 percent of votes.
 
The head of the Election Commission of Uzbekistan stated that the elections of this country were open, transparent and democratic, and said that the voter turnout was 79.8 percent.
 
These elections were held while international observers say that this competition was not free and the opposition was not allowed to participate in the elections.
