Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Khanjan Alokozay, a member of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce and Investment, stated in a conversation with an AVA reporter that the work of the Iran-Afghanistan Joint Chamber of Commerce was suspended eighteen years ago with the termination of the ministry of Martyr Sayed Mustafa Kazemi.
He added that the Westerners were involved in the suspension of this chamber and were not interested in the work of Afghans with Iran.
Alokozay further said that now the chambers of commerce and investment of the two countries are determined to start the joint chamber of commerce between the two countries again after eighteen years.
He pointed out that the statute of the joint chamber has been prepared by both sides and efforts are underway to activate it in the new solar year.
Based on Alokozay's statements; The restart of the joint chamber of commerce between the two countries will have positive effects on the expansion of trade relations.
He also said that this chamber will be of great help in increasing investment and solving trade challenges between the two countries.
This chamber is starting to work again after 18 years when Nouruddin Azizi, Acting Minister of Industry and Trade of the Islamic Emirate, called for the expansion of trade between the two countries during his visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
During this trip, Azizi stated that the trade of goods between Iran and Afghanistan is currently worth two billion dollars per year and this amount should reach ten billion dollars per year in the coming years.
