Iran is giong to build a standard blood transfusion center in Kabul

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: Dr. Mustafa Jamali, CEO of Blood Transfusion Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on the sidelines of the closing ceremony of the first meeting of blood transfusion managers of G5 member countries in Tehran, with the presence of Dr. Qalandar Ebad, Acting Ministry of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate. Afghanistan told Ava reporter about this summit: This summit had not been held for several years due to the Corona issues, and this year it was held in Tehran, and the countries talked about their experiences, current situation, problems and requests in the field of blood transfusion.
According to him, the country of Afghanistan has unfortunately fallen behind in the field of blood transfusion due to the 20-year occupation by foreigners and internal conflicts, but interested and motivated people from Afghanistan participated in this meeting and were very eager to catch up very quickly which was caused by war and occupation.
Dr. Jamali noted that we had good talks with our Afghan brothers in this meeting and it was decided that groups from Afghanistan would come to Iran and receive the necessary training and we would share our experiences with them.
He added: "We are trying to establish a standard blood transfusion center similar to the blood transfusion center in Tehran with the help of Iranian knowledge-based companies in Afghanistan, and we are helping our Afghan brothers to make this center fully operational and experts from neighboring countries. We can alone create and manage such blood transfusion centers in other provinces of Afghanistan.
The CEO of Iran Blood Transfusion Organization expressed optimism about the outcome of negotiations with the officials of the Ministry of Health of Afghanistan and said: We had good negotiations with the country of Afghanistan and we are going to witness good agreements in the near future.
He also announced his readiness in the field of training Afghan doctors and specialists and stated: The Higher Educational Research Institute of Blood Transfusion Medicine, which is affiliated to the Iranian Blood Transfusion Organization, is ready to train Afghan doctors and students at the master's and doctoral levels (PhD) and to teach in short periods, to make up for the backwardness caused by occupation and war.
At the same time, Dr. Qalandar Ebad, Acting Ministry of Public Health, has also announced the early visit of a delegation from the Ministry of Health of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Kabul to examine Afghanistan's needs.
Examining the status of blood transfusion services in the member countries, examining the possibility of expanding cooperation between members to solve challenges and provide common benefits in the field of blood transfusion was one of the main goals of the two-day meeting of Group 5 in the field of health.
Voluntary blood donation, preparation of blood components, blood screening systems and new technologies to improve the health and quality of blood products, the four axes of the first meeting of blood transfusion managers of the G5 member countries with the presence of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq and Tajikistan and also represented the World Health Organization in Tehran.
