The contract in this regard was signed between Afghan and Chinese companies in the Afghan embassy in Beijing last week.
The contract is worth 2.2 billion US dollars, Hashmatullah Ghafoori, deputy minister for irrigation said at a press conference in Kabul.
He added the companies also signed contract for exporting Afghanistan’s pistachio, almond and walnut.
Based on the pine nut contract, transportation of the product to Hairatan port will be responsibility of Afghanistan.
It will be transported through rail.
Meanwhile, Afghanistan’s Railway Authority said that 2.7 million tonnes of products have been transported to Central Asia and China through Hairatan port this year.
