AVA- Afghanistan's former national security adviser said Tuesday he will run for president.
Mohammad Haneef Atmar recently parted ways with President Ashraf Ghani citing "serious differences" after serving on this key post for four years.
In an interview with local broadcaster Tolo News, Atmar confirmed he would be contesting as a candidate in the presidential election in April 2019.
Ghani and a number of other leading politicians have already announced their nominations for the election.
