Two women were killed and two children were injured after a rocket hit a civilian home in the Dehrawood district of Uruzgan on Saturday evening.

 At least 20 armed insurgents were killed and 14 others wounded during separate airstrikes conducted by Afghan air force in south Afghanistan on Monday, Afghan army said in a statement released on Tuesday.

The United Nations warned Wednesday that days of heavy fighting in parts of central-eastern Afghanistan has worsened humanitarian conditions, and urged warring parties to ensure safe passage for civilians attempting to leave the affected districts.

The Afghan armed forces and the Taliban insurgents suffered casualties during an overnight clash in southern Uruzgan province of Afghanistan.
