Turkmenistan is initiating a number of large international and regional projects, including the transit transport corridor Lapis Lazuli along the Afghanistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey route, according to the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.
A landmark trade convoy linking landlocked Afghanistan to Turkey along the historic Lapis Lazuli route returned on Monday, successfully bringing back medicine, solar panels, and oil.
The Lapis Lazuli Corridor is serving as an outstanding alternative to Pakistan’s Karachi transit route, helping connecting Afghanistan to Europe, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce said on Sunday.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoF) on Tuesday said Afghanistan is preparing to export the first shipment of products through the Lapis Lazuli Transit, Trade and Transport Route within the next two days.
