Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Monitoring: The meeting highlighted the need for healthcare facilities in remote areas, enhanced resources for cancer and addiction treatment, and further international assistance to address the country’s healthcare challenges.
According to the Ministry of Public Health, Acting Minister Jalali emphasized the ministry’s commitment to expanding treatment options for cancer patients and those struggling with addiction. He noted that thousands of individuals have received addiction treatment over the past three years, and specialized centers have been established to improve accessibility and support for cancer patients.
The Acting Minister underscored the crucial role of international health organizations in reinforcing Afghanistan’s healthcare capabilities and formally requested the British Charge d’Affaires to facilitate additional support in this regard.
In response, Mr. Dickson assured continued British support for Afghanistan’s health sector, reaffirming the UK’s commitment to working closely with Afghan authorities to improve healthcare outcomes across the nation./Bakhtar News
