Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Monitoring: Deputy PM Mullah Baradar Akhund emphasized the project’s significance in enhancing connectivity between Kabul and Nangarhar, which will facilitate trade and transportation. He noted that the new lane is expected to alleviate traffic congestion and improve the safety of goods transport, thereby supporting small and medium enterprises along the route.
The construction will be carried out according to established standards, with toll fees collected for highway use being managed transparently by the Ministry of Public Works. The 150-kilometer highway will link the Bagrami district of Kabul with Nangarhar, passing through several key districts. The initial phase of the project, covering 22 kilometers, has already begun construction.
