Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: Esmail Beqaei, the new spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, appeared in his first press conference with domestic and foreign journalists in Tehran before noon today, Monday, October 21, and answered questions. He answered Ava's reporter's question about the policy and diplomacy of the new Iranian government regarding Afghanistan, the change in the country's diplomatic team, as well as the recent false rumors about the killing of Afghan nationals while trying to enter Iran illegally, and the continuation of the wave of xenophobia in Iran and Iranophobia. He replied in Afghanistan.

He said that he does not approve of both issues and it is not in the interest of the two nations about the efforts to create anti-immigration and anti-Afghanism in Iran and anti-Afghanism in Afghanistan.

This is despite the fact that previously, the special representative of the President of Iran for Afghanistan affairs and the border guards of Sistan and Baluchistan province of this country, denied the rumor of Iranian border guards shooting at a large number of citizens and illegal immigrants of the country.

Recently, Hanafi Wardak, the deputy of the political office of the Islamic Emirate in Qatar, published a post on his user account on X, severely criticizing the spread of baseless rumors about the killing of dozens of Afghan immigrants by Iranian border guards, and demanded punishment for those who tried to Afghanistan will clash with neighboring countries.

 

On the other hand, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, in response to the question whether the new government of Iran will follow a new policy and approach regarding Afghanistan, said: The foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding Afghanistan is very clear. This policy does not change with the change of people.

He pointed out: What is important, our effort during the last three years was to take into account the common interests between the two countries and the concerns of Iran, including terrorism, drugs, the presence of millions of Afghan citizens in Iran, with the continuation of relations at technical levels. and work between the two countries, we can help stabilize security and stability in Afghanistan, because when security and stability are established, many other issues including terrorism and immigration issues will be resolved.

He expressed hope that more serious steps will be taken in this direction.

Baqaei did not answer the other part of Ava reporter's question whether Iran's diplomatic team in Afghanistan will change in the new government of this country or not.

 

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, in response to another journalist's question about Iran's claim to Afghanistan, said that the country's basis in this matter is the treaty of 1351 and emphasized: We are in interaction and discussion with the officials of the caretaker government of Afghanistan, in an effort to get We are the whole class.
