Iraqi Foreign Minister in a meeting with Iran
Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hossein today (Thursday, 24th of Gemini) in a joint press conference with Iran's Acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri emphasized the establishment of a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hossein today (Thursday, june 13) after meeting and talking with Iran's Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ali Bagheri, explained the consultations held in a joint press conference.
 
At the beginning of the joint press conference, Fouad Hossein said: I offer my condolences to the martyrdom of Iranian officials and the honorable President of Iran, Mr. Raisi, and my friend and colleague, and added: The presence of Iraqi delegations in Tehran to condole the martyrs shows the depth of the strong and stable relations between the two countries.
 
He said that we were very sorry for this unfortunate incident and added: We were supposed to host the Iranian president in Baghdad.
Referring to the presence of Iran's Acting Foreign Minister in Baghdad, Fouad Hossein said: Mr. Bagheri's presence indicates the continuation of the relations between the two countries and we are very pleased with today's talks.
 
The Iraqi foreign minister emphasized the necessity of holding consultations about the current situation in the region between the two sides and said: it is necessary to hold these consultations in order to find solutions to the tensions in the region.
 
This high-ranking Iraqi diplomat referred to the region as "under fire".
 
Fouad Hossein also pointed to the current situation in Gaza and stated: We do not need a temporary ceasefire and we need a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
 
He said: We talked with Mr. Bagheri about the expansion of the war in southern Lebanon. The expansion of the war to southern Lebanon will affect the entire region.
 
It should be mentioned that Iran's foreign minister is going to visit Iraqi Kurdistan in the continuation of this trip and meet and talk with the local authorities of the Kurdistan region.
