Accepting responsibility for the assassination of a member of Jamiat Ulema Islam Pakistan by ISIS
ISIS Khorasan terrorist group claimed responsibility for the assassination of a senior member of Jamiat Ulema Islam in South Waziristan, Pakistan.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International service: Maulvi Mirza Jan was the target of an assassination attempt by unknown armed men last Thursday in the city of "Wana" located in the tribal region of South Waziristan in the northwest of Pakistan and was seriously injured.
 
This senior member of Jamiat Ulema Islam Party (Fazal branch) who was taken to a hospital in Peshawar, died yesterday (Tuesday) due to the severity of his injuries.
 
ISIS Khorasan terrorist group claimed responsibility for this assassination in a statement sent to Pakistani media.
 
Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of Jamiat Ulema Islam, condemned the attack on Maulvi Mirza Jan and demanded the immediate action of Pakistan's security agencies to identify and arrest the perpetrators of this crime.
 
In recent months, ISIS in Khorasan had threatened to attack Jamiat Ulema Islam (Fazal branch) because of its participation in the Pakistani elections.
 
At least 70 people were killed on the 8th of Asad last year after a suicide bombing took place at the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam People's Assembly in the "Bajor" region located in the northwest of Pakistan. The ISIS terrorist group claimed responsibility for this attack.
