Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Monitoring, In a statement issued by the embassy on Friday, it was revealed that Asadullah Bilal Karimi, Afghanistan’s acting ambassador to China, held discussions with Mao Ning, the deputy director of the Department of Asian Affairs at the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, regarding the upcoming Kabul meeting.
During their meeting, Ambassador Karimi emphasized the importance of enhanced cooperation among the participating countries in the forthcoming gathering.
The discussions between the two sides also encompassed a range of economic, commercial, and consular matters involving Afghanistan and China.
Earlier, Russia’s presidential envoy for Afghanistan, Zamir Kabulov, had disclosed that Russia, China, Iran, and Pakistan were making preparations for a meeting on Afghanistan, with the possibility of it occurring by the end of the current month.
Sayed Rasool Mousavi, the General Director of the South Asia Department within Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has also weighed in on the matter, stating that Kabul is poised to witness significant regional diplomatic activity.
He further added that the participation of Afghanistan’s neighboring nations in the upcoming meeting underscores their collective commitment to promoting peace, stability, and the welfare of the Afghan people, as well as enhancing security in the region.
The meeting in Kabul signals a concerted effort by regional powers to engage in dialogue and cooperation aimed at addressing the complex challenges facing Afghanistan and the wider region.
However, the Taliban administration has not officially disclosed any details regarding the timing and location of the regional contact group meeting so far.
