Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): British Defense Minister Grant Shapps reacted to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's recent statements about the two-state solution and called it "disappointing".
In an interview with Sky News, Shapps said it was "disappointing that Netanyahu is rejecting the two-state solution, which he has said many times throughout his political career."
The Prime Minister of the Israeli regime emphasized on Thursday that he is against the creation of a Palestinian state after the end of the Gaza war.
In a statement in this regard, Netanyahu stated that he has informed the White House of his opposition to the formation of any Palestinian state after the end of Israel's war against Gaza. He also said that all lands west of the Jordan River should be under Israeli security control.
Netanyahu has long been a staunch opponent of the creation of a Palestinian state, although he has occasionally supported this idea verbally.
Shaps further emphasized that there is no other solution other than a two-state solution in the field of Israel-Palestine conflict, and the whole world agrees that this is the best solution.
Regarding the violation of human rights in the Gaza war, he also said: Israel is responsible for respecting international laws, and this is what I told Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres also called the opposition to the two-state solution unacceptable.
He wrote on his account on X channel: Refusal to accept a two-state solution for Israelis and Palestinians and denying the right to form a government for the Palestinian people is unacceptable.
Guterres added: The right of the Palestinian people to build their own country must be recognized by all.
The White House also responded to Netanyahu's statements and said that Washington will continue its efforts to realize this solution.
After Netanyahu's speech, John Kirby, the spokesman of the White House National Security Council, said to reporters on the US President's plane: "There will be no occupation of Gaza after the end of the war."
