Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: These statements of those in the know are being made while some Iranian media have reported that Hassan Kazemi Qomi, the special representative and ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kabul today (Sunday, January 14) with the accompanying delegation for a discussion. They have arrived in Islamabad with Pakistani officials about the situation in Afghanistan.
According to this report, Hassan Kazemi Qomi went to Islamabad on the "official" invitation of Asif Ali Durrani, the special representative of the Prime Minister of Pakistan for Afghanistan affairs. It has been said that during this trip, Mr. Qomi will meet and talk with his Pakistani counterpart, the foreign minister of this country and some other Pakistani officials.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Ramin Ahmadzai, an expert on international relations, said in a conversation with AVA: The meetings held between the politicians of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Pakistan regarding the improvement of the situation in Afghanistan are more effective than other meetings on the country's situation. Because the governments of Iran and Pakistan, as close neighbors, have had a significant influence on Afghanistan's domestic and foreign policies over the past years and still have. They can contribute to the stability of Afghanistan's political system by supporting the Islamic Emirate and opposing political groups and currents abroad.
This expert on international relations emphasized that Iran and Pakistan have long borders with Afghanistan and have many religious and cultural commonalities and they are not in favor of insecurity in Afghanistan. Because any positive or negative change in the government and the political and economic situation of Afghanistan has its effects on the two neighboring countries as well.
He added that after the re-establishment of the Islamic Emirate in Afghanistan, the Islamic Republic of Iran and Pakistan have cooperated well with the Afghan government in the economic, political and cultural sectors and have always raised their voice in international meetings to improve the situation in Afghanistan.
Ahmadzai pointed out: The leaders of the countries of the region, especially Iran and Pakistan, have come to the understanding that security in Afghanistan will help them achieve their strategic interests in the region, otherwise it is very difficult for them to achieve their interests without the cooperation of the Afghan government.
On the other hand, Ahmad Javed Zazi, a political expert, said in a conversation with AVA that the main purpose of holding a meeting between Iranian and Pakistani politicians regarding Afghanistan is to secure their borders with Afghanistan. Because these two countries (Iran and Pakistan) have long and relatively insecure borders with Afghanistan. These borders are used daily by smugglers, terrorists, fighters and drugs, which has spread insecurity inside these countries.
He also emphasized that another goal of these talks is to solve the problem of Afghan immigrants in these two countries, because the long wars of the past forty years in Afghanistan have forced more than 6 million "Afghans" to seek refuge in Iran and Pakistan; The presence of this number of refugees in neighboring countries has led to a huge pressure on the resources and public services of these countries.
This political expert also emphasized that; Meetings about Afghanistan are fruitful when a representative from the Islamic Emirate is present in these meetings, because in the absence of the representative of Afghanistan, the decisions of these meetings do not take on a practical aspect. According to this political expert, during the past two years, several global and regional meetings have been held without the presence of a representative of the Islamic Emirate regarding Afghanistan, but it has had little effect on improving the situation in Afghanistan.
This is despite the fact that Iran and Pakistan witnessed attacks by terrorist groups in the past month. They claim that some terrorist groups are active in Afghanistan, but this claim has been repeatedly denied by the Islamic Emirate.
