Erdogan met with Bin Salman; several contracts were signed, including the purchase of drones from Türkiye
The President of Turkey arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in the first stage of his three-day trip to the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf to strengthen relations.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman welcomed Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Salam Palace in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Monday night (July 17).
 
According to Anatolia news agency, the official welcoming ceremony for Erdogan continued with the playing of the national anthems of Turkey and Saudi Arabia, and after the military salute to Erdogan, the bilateral meeting of the accompanying delegations began.
 
Amine Erdogan, the wife of the President of Turkey, Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alp Arslan Birgdar, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Yashar Guler, Minister of National Defense, Mohammad Fatih Kajir, Minister of Industry and Technology, Omar Bulat, Minister Tejarat, Justice and Development Party Vice President Omar Celik, Intelligence Organization Head Ibrahim Kalin, and Presidential Communications Director Fakhreddin Alton are accompanying Erdogan on this trip.
 
Saudi Arabia's "Al-Akhbariya" network also reported that after the end of the official welcoming ceremony for Erdoğan, official negotiations between the two sides began regarding Saudi-Turkish cooperation and bilateral relations.
 
Earlier, Turkish media reported that Erdoğan's periodic visit to the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf, starting from Saudi Arabia, will probably attract investments worth more than 50 billion dollars for Turkey. The Turkish newspaper Hurriyet has reported that it is expected that the contracts with the UAE will bring about 40 billion dollars of investment and the investment of other Arab countries will be 10 billion dollars.
 
The Ministry of Defense of Saudi Arabia reported today (Tuesday) that during the visit of Recep Tayyip Erdogan to this country, contracts were signed with the Turkish company "Baykar" that manufactures drones.
 
The statement of the Saudi Ministry of Defense on Twitter said: "The Crown Prince and the President of Turkey witnessed the signing of a number of bilateral agreements between the two countries, which include an executive plan for cooperation in the fields of empowerment, defense industries, research and development, and two purchase contracts between the Ministry of Defense and The Turkish company is being used.
 
Anatolia news agency also reported that, on Monday night, Turkey and Saudi Arabia signed agreements in the fields of direct investment, defense industry, energy, defense and communications during the negotiations of the high-level delegations of the two sides, which include:
- The memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of strengthening direct investment between Turkey and Saudi Arabia, which was signed by Burak Daglioglu, the head of the investment office in the Turkish presidency, and Khaled al-Falih, the minister of investment in Saudi Arabia.
 
- Memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of communications between the Communications Department of the Turkish Presidency and the Ministry of Media in Saudi Arabia, which was signed by Fakhruddin Alton, the head of the Communications Department of the Turkish Presidency, and Salman bin Yusuf Al-Dossari, the Minister of Media of Saudi Arabia.
 
- The executive plan of cooperation between the defense ministries of Turkey and Saudi Arabia, which was signed by Yashar Guler and Prince Khaled bin Salman Al Saud, the defense ministers of the two countries.
 
Memorandum of understanding in the energy sector between the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey and the Ministry of Energy of Saudi Arabia, which was signed by "Alp Arslan Birqdar", the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey, and Prince "Abd al-Aziz bin Salman Al Saud", the Minister of Energy of Saudi Arabia.
 
- The cooperation agreement between the Saudi Ministry of Defense and Baykar Company, which was signed by "Khalouk Beirgadar", the director general of the Turkish company, and "Khalid bin Hossein Al-Bayari", the Saudi Deputy Minister of Defense.
 
Earlier, the media reported that Erdogan will travel to Saudi Arabia on Monday as part of a three-stage trip to the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf to seek business and investment opportunities for the Turkish economy. He, along with 200 businessmen, is going to go to Qatar and UAE after Jeddah.
