The deputy of the Afghan Embassy in Tehran, who has traveled to Abrishum Bridge, the border between the two countries in Nimroz province, for the new phase of the transfer of prisoners from the Islamic Republic of Iran to Afghanistan, announced the surrender and transfer of 100 new prisoners to the country.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: Mufti Mohammad Alim Noorani, senior diplomat of the Islamic Emirate and deputy of the Afghan embassy in Tehran, who traveled to the border point with Iran at the Silk Bridge in Nimroz province, spoke to AVA about the handover of 100 Afghan prisoners.
 
He pointed out that the process of handover and transfer of Afghan prisoners in Iran is still going on and on Wednesday, June 14, more than 200 prisoners will be handed over to the Islamic Emirate at Islam Qala border in Herat Province.
 
According to Mufti Noorani, previously and in the past periods, 884 Afghan prisoners were transferred to Afghanistan in Iran, and with the calculation of 100 prisoners transferred yesterday, Sunday, June 11, their number reaches 984.
 
Meanwhile, this morning, the deputy of human rights and international affairs of the Ministry of Justice and the head of the Committee for the Transfer of Convicts of the Islamic Republic of Iran announced that 101 Afghan prisoners have been returned from Iran to the country.
 
IRNA news agency, citing this Iranian official, reported that 6,620 foreign nationals are incarcerated in the country's prisons, among them are the nationals of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Turkey, India, and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
