Hanafi meets the Head of delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross
The Deputy Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) for Administrative Affairs, has met with the Head of delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for Afghanistan, a statement from his office said.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Monitoring, In the meeting, Mr. Eloi Fillion shared comprehensive information about plans and humanitarian aid of the ICRC in 2023 with Deputy PM Hanafi, the statement said.
 
“The most important responsibility of the ICRC in Afghanistan is to make necessary and good communication with the governmental institutions and provide good coordination in relevant issues,” the statement quoted Mr. Eloi Fillion as saying.
 
Four decades of activities of the committee in health sectors, providing humanitarian aid, rural development, and other necessary services have been effective in Afghanistan and it will be continued in the future, the statement quoted.
However, the committee is facing a financial shortage, but efforts are underway to develop the budget for Afghanistan in the coming year, the statement said.
 
Meanwhile, Deputy PM Hanafi, while welcoming the delegation, appreciated the humanitarian assistance of the committee to Afghanistan and said: “After the resumption of power by the Islamic Emirate security has been ensured than ever before in Afghanistan and the IEA asks the International Community, particularly, ICRC to increase their humanitarian aids to Afghanistan.”
 
Trade, cultivation, and use of drugs have been banned by the Islamic Emirate and to eradicate the cultivation of poppy in the country, Afghanistan needs the comprehensive cooperation of the International Community, the statement added.
 
IEA will not allow any vicious group to use its soil against neighboring and other countries of the world and Afghanistan also wants others to not interfere in its internal affairs and challenges should be solved through diplomatic channels.
