Russia: We will destroy satellites that provide military aid to Ukraine

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The tension between America and Russia over Ukraine has gained new dimensions and both sides have threatened each other to target space and satellite infrastructures.
 
"Arrow Times" website on Friday (October 28) shared the recent words of a senior official of the Russian Foreign Ministry, who previously said that the commercial satellites of the United States and its allies could become Russia's legitimate targets if they participate in the war in Ukraine.
 
Konstantin Vorontsov, Deputy Director of the Non-Proliferation and Arms Control Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said that paramilitary infrastructure may be a legitimate target for a retaliatory attack.
 
"We are talking about the involvement of the United States and its allies in civilian space infrastructure," Vorontsov said.
 
Vorontsov did not mention any specific satellite company during his remarks.
 
Following these statements, Washington warned Moscow against destroying American satellites.
 
John Kirby, the National Security Council's strategic communications coordinator, said Thursday: "I'm just saying that any attack on America's infrastructure will be met with a commensurate response."
 
Earlier, news sources claimed that the Russian army is planning to target Western spy satellites with its "S-500" missile super system.
 
According to the claims of some news sources, Russia plans to target spy satellites of foreign countries that provide information to Ukraine with the S-500 missile system.
 
S-500 is a weapon with which Russia has strengthened its defense power. The S-500 is described as a space defense system and can intercept satellites, intercontinental ballistic missiles, hypersonic cruise missiles and radar-evading aircraft.
 
 "Almaz Anti" company, the manufacturer of this system, has announced that the S-500 can target satellites below the Earth's orbit.
 
The director of Almaz Anti said that the S-500 will deal a blow to America's military prestige and will disable all of America's offensive weapons and bypass all layers of America's air and missile defense.
