Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, today, Monday, August 15, 2022, in his weekly meeting with reporters in Tehran, answered the question of the AVA reporter about the first anniversary of the US withdrawal from Afghanistan, the fall of the republican regime and its return to power. The Islamic Emirate responded in the country.
Nasser Kanani said: After 20 years, we are witnessing the withdrawal of American forces from Afghanistan and the end of its illegal occupation in this country. The result of this illegal occupation was nothing but killing and destruction of economic, social, service, medical and educational infrastructures.
According to him, the current miserable situation in Afghanistan is the result of illegal actions of America.
Kanani continued: The truth is that we also suffered from what happened in Afghanistan in the last 20 years.
The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran added that after the irresponsible withdrawal of America from Afghanistan, this country is still responsible for what is going on in Afghanistan, including the destruction, as an occupying government. America's withdrawal does not mean the end of the responsibilities of 20 years of aggression and occupation.
The spokesperson of Iran's diplomatic system once again emphasized the necessity of forming an inclusive government in Afghanistan and said that in the current situation, what can help to return stability, peace and security in Afghanistan is the formation of an inclusive government consisting of all ethnic groups and political currents. There is a government in this country that represents the whole of Afghanistan, and this issue has been the most important and principled position of Iran since the beginning of the withdrawal of the occupying forces from Afghanistan, and it still believes that the current solution in this country is the formation of an inclusive people's government.
Kanani stated: We consider ourselves with the people of Afghanistan, and stability and security in this country not only provide for the interests of these people; rather, it provides the interests of neighboring countries, including the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In the end, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran emphasized: "We are following a positive and constructive interaction with the caretaker government of Afghanistan with a responsible view, and the talks at different levels aimed at helping to create stability and peace as well as development in this country continue." Our talks about border issues, water issues, meeting the needs of the Afghan people and expanding economic cooperation are continuing and we are trying to play a constructive role with the Afghan people.
Meanwhile, one year has passed since the fall of the republican system and the domination of the "Islamic Emirate" over Afghanistan. In response to this major political event, the Islamic Republic of Iran, in addition to accepting nearly one million new refugees, cooperated with the new government and tried to create a national discourse, helping to provide security, reviving the crisis economy and reducing poverty in its agenda.
