According to him, the reason for not starting the work on the Aqineh-Andkhoy railway line is the non-completion of the substation of Andkhoy district, which is currently being worked on and will be completed within the next month.
Rasouli added that the Aqineh-Andkhoy railway line is 30 kilometers long and its construction work started in 2019 but it was stopped last year due to new developments in the country.
He emphasized that with the start of the Aqineh-Andkhoy railway, the income of the Aqineh border will increase significantly.
According to the head of Andkhoy Railway, more than 30 million dollars have been spent to build this railway.
Meanwhile, according to economic experts in the north, with the start of this railway, the process of loading and unloading from Aqinah border will increase from 950 tons to 1,500 tons.
Aqinah is one of the important borders in the north of the country, which is located on the border of Turkmenistan, 15 kilometers from Andkhoy district, and most of the petroleum products are imported from Turkmenistan through this route.
