Cases of Seasonal Diseases Increase
The cases of seasonal diseases have been on the rise in the last three weeks, as the weather is warming.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_ Monitoring, Other seasonal diseases include cold, malaria and measles, said Mohammad Naeem Akbari, a physician at Infectious Diseases Hospital in Kabul.
 
“In this season of the year, diarrhea cases have spiked. Around 1,000 to 1,500 people are brought to the (infectious diseases) hospital in Kabul and every doctor visits around 50 to 60 patients a day,” said Abdulrahman Jawad, a doctor.
 
Warm weather and inattention to personal hygiene are the main reasons for the spike in cases of seasonal diseases, doctors said.
 
“People should not drink unclean water. They should wash vegetables and soak them in salty water for five minutes,” instructed Aliya, a physician.
 
Some parents who took their children for treatment at Kabul hospital said they were infected suddenly.
 
“It has been a while since my son is sick. He has got cold,” said Zuhal, mother of a child.
 
“My child is two years old. He had sore throat and stomach ache so I brought him to the hospital,” said Gul Mohra, mother of a child
