Unrest in the autonomous region of Karakalpakstan, Uzbekistan / Shaukat Mirzayev declared a state of emergency
Following the recent unrest in the autonomous region of Pakistan's Karakalpakstan, the President of Uzbekistan signed an executive order declaring a state of emergency in this region.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA), Sources in the city of Nokos, Uzbekistan have said that according to the order of Shaukat Mirziyoyev, the president of this country, the movement of public and private vehicles has been prohibited in the city of Nokos, the center of Karakalpakstan (Autonomous Republic of Pakistan).
 
Sources have added that all night entertainment facilities and 24-hour sales centers have been closed.
 
On Saturday, July 2, the President of Uzbekistan signed an executive order declaring a state of emergency from July 3 to August 2 in the autonomous republic of Karakalpakstan, where tensions had erupted the previous day.
 
Mirziyoyev has also decided not to implement the amendments that were supposed to be implemented in the Constitution of Uzbekistan regarding the status of Karakalpakstan, after the recent unrest in this region.
 
Karakalpakstan is an autonomous region in the northwest of Uzbekistan, which has a population of nearly two million people. The center of this republic is the city of Nokos, which is considered one of the most important and strategic cities in Uzbekistan.
