"The sortie was launched by Afghan Air Force at about 6:00 p.m. local time Saturday in Mohammad Agha district of Logar, resulting in the death of Waisuddin and four of his colleagues," the ministry said in a statement.
On Thursday, deceased Waisuddin was reportedly leading a group of armed militants who single out from a vehicle along a road and ferociously shot dead four provincial court judges of neighboring Paktia province in Mohammad Agha, according to the statement.
The victims were travelling from Paktia to national capital of Kabul.
Taliban and ISIS militant groups often target civilians and religious clerics as well as local leaders for their support to the government. At least 17 people have been killed in targeted attacks across the country since early last month.
Taliban militant group hasn't made a comment on the report so far.
