Mosque bombing injures 10 in southwest Pakistan

AVA- At least ten people were injured in a bomb explosion that took place inside a mosque in southwest Pakistan on Wednesday, police and local media reported. 
The explosion took place at a mosque located in the Chaman district of southwestern Balochistan province, which borders Afghanistan, soon after Maghrib (sunset) prayer, local broadcaster Capital TV reported, quoting unnamed police officials.
The injured included the imam (prayer leader) whose condition was stated to be critical.
Initial investigations suggested that the explosive material was planted inside a cupboard in the main prayer hall. 
The blast occurred a day after a massive suicide blast at a ceremony held in connection with the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon Him) in the Afghan capital Kabul that killed over 50 people on Tuesday.
The large Balochistan province, which is also considered to cover parts of neighboring Iran and Afghanistan, is strategically important because of the rich presence of copper, zinc and natural gas but has beset by violence for over six decades.
The province is also a key route of multi-billion dollars China Pakistan Economic Corridor, a part of Beijing's ambitious One Belt-One Road project.
