The Office of the President, ARG Palace, in a statement said the local elders and influential tribal people met with President Ghani on Monday afternoon and urged for reforms in civilian and military institutions, prevention of the activities of irresponsible armed individuals, land grabbers, illegal exploration of mines, improvement of security on district level, and implementation of development projects.
In his turn, President Ghani assured the elders of the two province that the Independent Administrative Reform and Civil Service Commission has been instructed to appoint new officials in in all provincial directorates, including Baghlan and Kunduz.
President Ghani further added that the officials who have served for a period of five years should be replaced by new officials through open contest.
He also instructed the security and defense officials to take necessary measures for the improvement of security and curb the activities of the irresponsible armed individuals.
President Ghani also instructed the agriculture, public health, urban development, and energy and water ministries to assist the residents of the province during the winter season by distributing wheat, pay attention to clinics, reopen the closed schools, and prioritize the construction of the public welfare buildings.
